Remembering someone
Gather photos and memories for a funeral or memorial
Family and friends can share their photos and stories of the person you are remembering, from any phone, without an app or an account. Everything is kept together for the service, a celebration of life slideshow, and the years after.
How it works
At your own pace
Step 1: Make a place for them
Add their name and, if you like, their years. You get one link and a printable card with a QR code.
Step 2: Ask family and friends
Share the link with relatives, or place the card at the service. People add photos and written memories from their phone, without an app or an account.
Step 3: Keep everything together
Photos and stories stay in one album your family looks after. Play a slideshow at the gathering, and download everything whenever you need it.
What the album offers
A quiet place for their photos and stories
A short, gentle checklist
Gather photos, collect memories and stories, prepare a slideshow for the gathering, and a printed book later. Nothing is required, and there is no rush.
Memories in any language
Alongside photos, people can write a memory or a prayer in whatever language they think in. Every word is kept.
Simple for everyone
Older relatives and friends far away can take part from a phone browser. They type their name and choose photos. No app, no account.
A slideshow for the service
Play the photos as a slideshow in any browser, on a laptop or a TV, for the funeral, memorial or celebration of life.
Looked after by the family
More than one person can care for the album. Add helpers, and name heirs so it is never left with only one person.
Kept, with the originals
The album does not close after a set number of days. Each original photo is kept, and the family can download all of them as a ZIP.
FAQ
Questions about memorial albums
How do family and friends share photos for a funeral or memorial?
Send them the album link, or place the printed card with its QR code at the service. They open it on their phone, type their name and choose photos. It works in the phone's web browser, with no app and no account.
Can people share written memories as well as photos?
Yes. Anyone with the link can write a memory, a story or a prayer next to their photos, in any language. These are kept in the album with the pictures.
Can we play the photos as a slideshow at the celebration of life?
Yes. The family can play a slideshow from the album in any web browser, on a laptop connected to a screen or a smart TV. Favourites are shown first, and hidden photos are left out.
Who can see the photos and memories?
The full album is for the family: the keepers, and any helpers or heirs they add. People adding photos see a few recent ones on the upload page, and a keeper can hide any photo so it is never shown to them. Albums are kept out of search engines.
How long is the memorial album kept?
The album does not expire after a set number of days. It belongs to your family, and you can name heirs so it can be looked after in the years ahead. A family can also ask for it to be deleted at any time.
Is there a cost?
No. During the alpha MyPhotoAlbum is free, with room for up to 200 photos per album.
Can we make a printed book of the photos later?
The checklist keeps a place for a printed tribute book, for whenever the family is ready. Today you can download every original photo as a ZIP to use with a print service of your choice.
Whenever you are ready
There is no rush. You can set up the album now and share it when it feels right.
